The weight of a single word can pull you into the deep end of the pool, causing your limbs to flail in panic as you try to convince yourself not to give up. But giving up is easy. You close your eyes, sink to the bottom, release the air from your lungs. The heel of your left foot scrapes the bottom of the pool. Startled, you open your eyes, accept the chlorine sting. A small frog swims across the surface, soundless and undisturbed. You decide to break through the water and continue to breath.
